What if there is one standard to controll all (at least most used) devices such as AV-receiver, DVD/blu ray player, digital (HDTV) tuner etc. What if you could put away these devices behind closed doors, only the TV exposed (duh..) and with my idea for remoteless operations all devices working together. Not only childsafe, but it would mean a much greater experience.
I think that with HDMI this should be possible.
