Gesture Based Controls - No More Lost Remotes!

It's simple, really: what if gestures with your hands could perform basic-to-moderate level television controls? What if it could control all of them? No special hardware or gloves required, everything is gestural. All you need are hands.

Simply perform a starting gesture to get the TV to recognize inputs (and not respond to "accidental" inputs), and it automatically turns off gestures after a few seconds of inactivity. Or enable always-on for people that don't have pets and children running around ;)

No more lost remotes. Ever.

Swipe your hand upwards to raise the volume. Down to lower it. Left and right to change channels. Push forward to get a menu. Pull back to close the menu. There are hundreds of possibilities. Combined with some rudimentary onscreen graphics, you could control the entire tv using nothing but your hands.

This would require the mounting of a relatively small camera or two into the TV to track your gestures. These cameras could even serve other functions as well beyond gestures, such as adjusting picture and brightness based on ambient light levels, taking pictures/video, web chat (for internet enabled TVs)

Embedded camera sensors are very cheap, and could be easily integrated into the TV/Bezel to enable this functionality.
