I was thinking if there could be some device that I can use as my mobile phone, my TV projector, my PDA etc. You can say all in one. Literally.
Imagine a device (I would not know what to call it yet) being docked to your home STB sitting at home. STB is a tiny device that de-scrambles the signal which can also write it to my solid state flash drive or flash card (my DVR). This device can be carried around and connect to any other device to play the shows it contains.
For ex. I come home and dock my "device" to the STB and it will start my holographic tv. It will also include a motion gesture decoder that is built into the STB that interprets my gestures and changes channels or do anything that I do with normal TV. That would be awesome. Oh...btw, you might think that audio might be an issue? The tiny STB can detect your home speakers and using them to transmit audio or it might use built in speakers. Each one in the home can have their own device and docking station. The "device" will also be able to sync the shows from the dock so that they can be watched on the move. Advantages of this approach: 1) No need of remotes 2) One single device to watch TV (projects images) that acts as PDA, Phone etc.
